No breakthrough yet in Zizo’s legal dispute with Zamalek
The legal dispute between Ahmed Mostafa Zizo and his former club, Zamalek SC, has taken a new turn after Egypt’s Players’ Affairs Committee decided to reopen the case and review the entire file from the beginning.
According to a source, the committee explained that the move was necessary to allow a thorough reassessment of all the documents and evidence submitted by both sides. The objective is to ensure that every legal and technical detail is properly examined before a final ruling is delivered.
Officials stressed that the complexity of the dispute requires careful consideration in order to reach a fair decision that could significantly affect the future of the parties involved.
At the centre of the case are major financial claims from both sides that have further strained relations between the player and the Cairo-based club. Zizo, who now plays for Al Ahly SC, is seeking more than 80 million Egyptian pounds in unpaid dues, which he insists are owed to him from his time at Zamalek.
On the other hand, Zamalek are maintaining their legal stance and are demanding approximately 20 million pounds in compensation. The club argues that the player violated his contract by missing team training sessions without prior approval.
As part of the renewed review process, the Players’ Affairs Committee plans to summon all parties involved, including the player and the legal representatives of Zamalek, for further hearings in the coming period.
These sessions will allow each side to present its arguments in full before a final decision is reached in the case.
