Kylian Mbappe has returned to the pitches at Valdebebas as Real Madrid step up preparations for their Champions League first leg against Manchester City on Wednesday.

After undergoing conservative treatment in Paris last week, the forward rejoined the squad but did not yet work with the full group.

Instead, Mbappe focused on individual fitness, completing continuous running drills under the supervision of French coach Sebastien Devillaz. His presence back on the grass is an encouraging sign, but doubts remain over whether he will be ready in time for the showdown with City. Real Madrid are said to be cautious, knowing that rushing him back too soon could risk a setback at a crucial stage of the season.

Coach Arbeloa is already juggling several absences in the team ahead of the crucial clash. There is better news elsewhere, with Antonio Rudiger returning to training and Eduardo Camavinga fully reintegrated after missing the previous match. For now, Mbappe is considered unlikely to feature unless there is a late and significant improvement in his condition before matchday.
