In a press conference ahead of Egypt’s crucial match against Congo, Manager Roy Vitoria expressed his discontent with the string of injuries plaguing the national team.
“I dislike losing, and we always play to win, but misfortune and numerous injuries have plagued us since the beginning of the camp,” remarked Vitoria.
Respecting all players and teams, Vitoria maintained, “We are prepared to secure a victory.”
Highlighting the peculiar turn of events, he stated, “We’ve faced numerous injuries from the start of the preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Strange occurrences like Osama Jalal and Ahmed Koka, and even the team’s mission officer underwent a heart operation.
Then Salah and El Shenawy, and now, Imam Ashour, who sustained an injury in training, will be absent from the match.”
Vitoria, the head coach of the Egyptian national team, emphasized that every match is crucial and challenging.
“We have some injuries, and we are playing against a tough team, but we are ready,” he affirmed.
Speaking at the press conference before the Congo Democratic match, Vitoria addressed the need to rectify mistakes from the Congo game, acknowledging the challenging atmosphere.
He stated, “We were the better team in most matches, maintaining our character and a clear playing style.”
Responding to the possibility of facing Morocco or Senegal, Vitoria commented, “Every team with lofty goals knows that they might face each other.
There isn’t a single overwhelmingly strong team; all teams are good.”
Despite the setbacks, Vitoria conveyed confidence in the team’s readiness and resilience as they approach the upcoming crucial fixture in the Africa Cup of Nations.
