Mamdouh Abbas appointed honorary president of Zamalek

Mamdouh Abbas, former president of Zamalek SC, has been named the club’s honorary president, following approval from the board of directors led by Hussein Labib.

Abbas clarified on his X account that the honorary presidency is purely advisory. He will offer guidance when requested, while full responsibility for the club’s management, policies, and strategy remains with the elected board.

“The role is meant to support the club through advice and expertise, without involvement in day-to-day executive decisions,” Abbas emphasised.

His appointment recognises decades of dedication to Zamalek, reflecting his efforts to strengthen the club, maintain stability, and uphold its traditions.

The board praised Abbas’s long-standing contributions and described the move as a tribute to club icons who have shaped Zamalek’s history and helped fulfil the aspirations of its supporters.
