Chris-Kévin Nadje: Feyenoord attacking midfielder linked with Monterey Bay move in United States transfer rumour

Feyenoord playmaker Chris-Kévin Nadje has been linked with a surprise move to USL Championship side Monterey Bay, with his long-term future uncertain as he edges towards the end of a loan spell at Excelsior Rotterdam.

Transfermarkt data lists Nadje, currently valued at €1.00m, as a Feyenoord player on loan at city rivals Excelsior until 30 June 2026, when he is due to return to De Kuip. With no contract expiry date publicly recorded at Feyenoord, the 24-year-old could yet find himself in a position to negotiate as a potential free agent in the near future, adding intrigue to any talks with Monterey Bay.

The mooted switch to the United States’ second tier remains firmly in the rumour category, with the reported probability of the deal still marked as “?”. Monterey Bay, who compete in the USL Championship, are monitoring an attacking midfielder whose value has fluctuated over the last two years – rising to €1.5m at Feyenoord in late 2024 before dipping to its current €1.00m following his move to Excelsior.

Born in Abidjan on 14 August 2001, Nadje holds dual nationality with Côte d’Ivoire and France and stands at 1.90m. A right-footed attacking midfielder, he came through the RC Lens youth set-up before spells at Entente Feignies Aulnoye U19, Stade Laval B and FC Versailles 78 in the French system, earning a move to Feyenoord in July 2024 and then a loan to Excelsior in September 2025.

Nadje has been building his reputation in the Eredivisie with Excelsior, featuring in their recent campaign and impressing with his physical presence and ball-carrying from midfield, including a standout outing in their narrow league defeat to a top-half Dutch opponent earlier this season.

Should a move to Monterey Bay materialise, it would mark a significant change of direction for a player still entering his prime years and could prove a pivotal step in reshaping both his profile and long-term career trajectory.
