Amin Chiakha: Freiburg linked with Rosenborg striker after prolific start
Amin Chiakha, the Algerian-Danish centre-forward at Rosenborg BK, has been linked with a move to Freiburg in the Bundesliga.
The 20-year-old has made an immediate impact in Norway, scoring 13 goals and providing three assists in 21 Eliteserien appearances this season. He has also scored once in the NM-Cup.
Chiakha joined Rosenborg from Copenhagen on 19 August 2026 after a loan spell at the Norwegian club earlier in the year. The permanent move was completed for €5m, while his current market value is listed at €8m.
The forward previously helped Copenhagen win the Danish title and Danish Cup in the 2024-25 season. He came through the club’s youth system and was the leading scorer in both the UEFA Youth League and Denmark’s Under-19 league in 2023-24, scoring seven and 19 goals respectively.
A move to Freiburg would take Chiakha from the Eliteserien to Germany’s top flight, although the rumour does not include a reported fee or probability of completion.
Chiakha remains under contract at Rosenborg until 31 December 2030 and has continued to lead the club’s attack during the 2026 season.
