Lamine Yamal relieved as pubalgia troubles finally fade
Lamine Yamal says he finally feels free again after overcoming the pubalgia issues that had been troubling him in recent weeks.
The Barcelona winger spoke openly about his recovery after hitting a hat-trick in the 4–1 win over Villarreal at Montjuïc.
“I think it’s behind me now,” Yamal admitted, explaining that the discomfort had affected both his body and his mood on the pitch. “I wasn’t feeling well before. I wasn’t happy playing. I’ve been feeling better for over a week now. I’m happy playing.” When asked if this is his best version yet, he smiled and replied: “I don’t know… you tell me (laughs).”
His performances certainly back up the optimism. Yamal is in red-hot form, having now scored in five consecutive La Liga matches, and his goals have been crucial in pushing Barcelona four points clear at the top of the table.
With his fitness restored and confidence surging, Barcelona fans will hope this is just the beginning of a devastating run from their young star.
