Eleven players arrive in Super Falcons camp in Yaoundé ahead of Cameroon friendlies

The Super Falcons of Nigeria have officially opened camp in Yaoundé as preparations intensify for their upcoming international friendlies against the Cameroon women’s national football team.

Head coach Justine Madugu touched down in the Cameroonian capital on Tuesday alongside his technical crew, setting the tone for what promises to be a competitive build-up phase. Eleven players have already reported to camp, signaling strong early commitment as the team gears up for the crucial double-header.

Among the first to arrive were captain Rasheedat Ajibade, dynamic forward Gift Monday, defender Tosin Demehin, and influential midfielder Christy Ucheibe — key figures expected to anchor the squad both on and off the pitch. Their early presence provides leadership and stability as training sessions get underway.

An additional fourteen players are expected to join the camp in the coming days, which will bring the squad closer to full strength ahead of the high-profile encounters. The friendlies form a vital part of preparations for the 2026 edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, where both Nigeria and Cameroon aim to make strong statements.

For the Super Falcons, the fixtures offer more than just match fitness. They provide an opportunity for tactical refinement, squad cohesion, and evaluation of emerging talents as Madugu continues to shape his team ahead of continental competition.

With two African heavyweights set to clash, the Yaoundé camp marks the beginning of an important chapter in Nigeria’s road to WAFCON 2026.
