Champions League: CAF updates schedule for AS FAR vs Pyramids quarter-final clash in March

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially announced its decision regarding the first leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-final between Morocco’s AS FAR and Egypt’s Pyramids FC.

Pyramids secured their place in the last eight after finishing top of Group A with 16 points, completing the group stage unbeaten. AS FAR advanced as runners-up in Group B with nine points, just one point behind leaders Al Ahly SC.

CAF confirmed that the first leg will take place on Friday, March 13, at 9 pm Moroccan time, corresponding to 11 pm in Cairo. The match will be staged at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat and will be played behind closed doors due to a previous disciplinary sanction.

The scheduling adjustment was made in consideration of Ramadan, allowing players observing the fast sufficient time to break it before kick-off.

The return leg is set for March 21 at 9 pm Cairo time at the Air Defense Stadium in the Egyptian capital, where defending champions Pyramids will look to capitalise on home advantage in their bid to reach the semi-finals of the continent’s premier club competition.
