Borussia Dortmund are preparing to open discussions over a new contract for Serhou Guirassy after being impressed by the Guinea striker’s performances and his influence within the squad.
The club’s management is keen to protect the long-term future of a player it considers central to its sporting plans. According to journalist Ekrem Konur, Dortmund are particularly satisfied not only with Guirassy’s contribution in front of goal but also with the role he plays in the dressing room.
Relations between the player and the club are understood to be excellent, creating a favourable environment for negotiations to begin. Dortmund want to avoid uncertainty over the striker’s future and underline their confidence in his importance to the team.
Guirassy’s current contract runs until June 2028, but a successful extension would represent further recognition of his status at Borussia Dortmund. The Guinea international is currently valued at €32m, while his annual salary is €9,430,000, equivalent to 6,129,500,000 FCFA.
The forward has established himself as an important member of the BVB squad since joining the club and is also bidding to break three historic records.
Borussia Dortmund will next face Real Betis in the fourth matchday of the Champions League league phase.
