‘He wants the best for you’ – Caicedo praises Liam Rosenior influence

Chelsea’s Moisés Caicedo has opened up about the significant role manager Liam Rosenior has played in his early days at the club, praising the coach’s focus on improving both individual players and the team as a whole.

The Ecuadorian midfielder, who arrived in a high-profile move from Brighton last summer, admits he’s been thoroughly impressed with Rosenior’s methods and commitment to his development.

In an interview with Chelsea’s official website, Caicedo acknowledged the team’s frustration after drawing their latest match, but expressed confidence in their progress under Rosenior’s guidance.

“Every game we want to win, so we were very disappointed to get just one point,” Caicedo said. “But I think we are doing very well. We are learning from our mistakes and getting better each time.”

What stands out most to Caicedo, however, is the direct attention Rosenior has given him. Reflecting on their first conversation when the manager took charge, Caicedo revealed that Rosenior had spent time analyzing his game in detail.

“The first day he came in, I had a meeting with him. We talked about myself because he watched a lot of our games, especially me,” he explained.

“He wants to help me become an even better player, and that’s why he’s here. It’s so good to hear that because it motivates you to keep improving.”

Rosenior’s approach has not only won over Caicedo but has instilled a strong sense of trust within the squad. The midfielder emphasized that the daily training sessions under the new manager are focused, with clear expectations set both in practice and in matches.

“Every day we are doing what he wants, and we are doing it on the pitch in games,” Caicedo said. “He wants the best for you, so I’m trying really hard every day to show why he said I’m one of the best players.”
