‘They were wonderful years’ – N’Golo Kante opens up on life in Saudi Arabia
N’Golo Kanté has spoken warmly about his spell in Saudi Arabia, describing it as a rewarding chapter in his career filled with strong competition and memorable moments.
The French midfielder of Malian descent, who currently plays for Fenerbahçe, made the move to Al-Ittihad in the summer of 2023. During his time in the Saudi Professional League, he quickly established himself as a key figure in the squad before opting to return to European football in January.
Reflecting on his experience, Kanté said, “I had a great time in the Roshen league, and I feel good and there is no difference from the competition here.”
He continued, “I think I had a great time in Saudi Arabia. The competition was tough, we had many difficult and competitive matches, but I enjoyed it a lot.”
Explaining his decision to head back to Europe, the former France international disclosed that it was because of a desire to take up a new challenge.
“I decided to return to Europe through Fenerbahce in order to take on a new challenge in my career, and I hope things go well,” N’Golo Kante said.
