Franco-Malian attacker Moussa Diaby returns to Al-Ittihad training ahead of Al-Hilal showdown

France forward of Malian descent, Al-Ittihad, has returned to training at Al-Ittihad ahead of their Saudi Professional League showdown against Al-Hilal.

The attacker’s recovery from injury is seen as timely and provides a key squad boost for his team ahead of the big game.

The two sides are set to meet on Saturday at the Kingdom Arena in the 23rd round of the League, in a fixture that tends to crackle with title-race electricity.

Diaby resumed full training on Thursday alongside teammate Hassan Kadesh, easing concerns over their fitness after both players had been sidelined with injuries. Their participation in the session strongly suggests they will be available for selection in the much-anticipated Clasico.

The French winger had missed Al-Ittihad’s previous outing against Al-Sadd in the final round of the league phase of the AFC Champions League Elite, a match “The Tigers” won convincingly 4–1.

Since the start of the season, Diaby has featured in 29 matches across all competitions, contributing to 16 goals with three goals and 13 assists. Kadesh, meanwhile, has made 20 appearances, scoring once and providing one assist.

With Diaby back in the fold, Al-Ittihad regain one of their sharpest attacking blades just in time for a duel that rarely lacks drama.
