We need to get results – Franco-Senegalese coach Habib Beye after joining Marseille
Franco-Senegalese tactician Habib Beye has vowed to grind results for Olympique Marseille following his switch to the club.
Beye joined Marseille on Wednesday night as a replace for Italian trainer Roberto De Zerbi, who was shown the exit door following heavy defeat to Paris Saint Germain.
The Franco-Senegalese gaffer, who recently parted ways with Stade Rennes amid the club’s inconsistent performance has swiftly find a new home.
Speaking after his unveiling, Beye vowed to turn things around for the French Ligue 1 giants, who currently sit fourth on the league standings after 22 matches into the campaign.
“When I took over Rennes, they were 16th in Ligue 1. Innovation was secondary; we had to be pragmatic. Rennes was 6th when we left, so there was progress. At OM, we’ll be analysing what we can do tactically because we have the quality of players that allows us to do that. But above all, we need to get results. We need time to implement our methodology to help this team progress.”
The former Stade Rennais and Red Star FC boss only has 24 hours until his first match against to Brest on Friday evening.
Beye will be hoping for a flying start to life at Marseille when they lock horns with Brest in his debut match.
