Lassine Sinayoko has been described as “imperial” after playing a decisive role in Auxerre’s latest performance, with French daily L’Équipe awarding him an 8/10 rating and highlighting his influence across all three of his side’s goals.
The newspaper praised the Malian forward’s energy, movement and overall contribution, underlining how central he was to AJ Auxerre’s attacking display.
His impact did not go unnoticed by his manager either.
Speaking after the match, coach Christophe Pélissier said: ” Lasso played a very, very big game today, with a tremendous amount of effort. “
The performance further reinforced Sinayoko’s importance within Auxerre’s tactical set-up.
This season, he has been directly involved in 59% of his team’s goals – contributing to 10 of their 17 – the highest such ratio across Europe’s top five leagues.

The statistic places him ahead of Erling Haaland in terms of direct goal involvement proportion.
Although Sinayoko has scored six times in Ligue 1 so far, his broader contribution extends beyond the numbers.
His work rate, mobility and ability to link play have made him a central figure in Auxerre’s attacking structure.

On the international stage, he also led the line for Mali at the Africa Cup of Nations, standing out individually despite mixed results for the Eagles.
His performances have strengthened his standing among supporters, who regard him as one of the national team’s key figures.
With his current form attracting growing recognition, expectations are rising that his goal tally will soon reflect the scale of his influence.
