Morocco international Abde Ezzalzouli produced an outstanding performance to help Real Betis secure a crucial away victory over Real Mallorca in the Spanish La Liga.
Betis kept their momentum rolling in the Spanish top-flight on Sunday night, grinding out an impressive 2–1 win against Real Mallorca in a fiercely contested Round 24 encounter.
The 24-year-old winger played a pivotal role by registering his name on the scoresheet, contributing to the sides’ victory.
The visitors started with confidence and were rewarded early on. In the 18th minute, the Moroccan winger broke the deadlock, latching onto a well-worked move and finishing clinically to put Betis ahead. The goal set the tone for a first half in which the Andalusians looked sharper and more composed, controlling possession and limiting Mallorca’s attacking threat.
Just when the hosts were hoping to head into the break only a goal down, Betis struck again. Deep into first-half stoppage time, Congolese forward Cédric Bakambu doubled the advantage, pouncing in the box to score in the 47th minute and give the visitors a crucial cushion heading into halftime.
Mallorca responded with renewed urgency after the interval and eventually found a way back into the match. Their pressure paid off in the 66th minute when Kosovo international Vedat Muriqi pulled one back, rising highest to convert and reignite hopes of a comeback. The remainder of the match saw Mallorca push forward in search of an equaliser, but Betis held firm, showing defensive discipline and maturity to protect their narrow lead until the final whistle.
The victory marks a third consecutive league win for Real Betis, lifting them to 41 points and further consolidating their grip on fifth place in the standings. The result also sees them close the gap on Atlético Madrid, now just four points behind, after Atlético suffered a heavy 3–0 defeat to Rayo Vallecano earlier in the day.
For Mallorca, the defeat deepens their struggles. It was their second loss in a row and their third in the last five league matches, leaving them stranded on 24 points in 18th place, hovering precariously just above the relegation zone as the pressure continues to mount.
