Simba SC signed off their CAF Champions League Group D campaign with a hard‑fought 1-0 victory over Stade Malien at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium.
The Tanzanian giants made the perfect start when Oura struck in the 4th minute, capitalising on early pressure to give the hosts a lead they would not relinquish. Backed by a vibrant home crowd in Dar es Salaam, Simba controlled large spells of the game, managing the tempo well after the breakthrough.
Stade Malien gradually grew into the contest and pushed for an equaliser, but Simba’s back line stayed organised and limited the visitors to half-chances.
As the minutes ticked away, Simba tightened their shape, defending deeper and playing on the counter to protect their narrow advantage. The final whistle sparked celebrations from Stade Malien. Simba has extended their unbeaten run to nine matches in all competitions, underlining their growing confidence.
Simba now turns its attention to its next domestic assignment against Tanzania Prisons, while Stade Malien regroups ahead of their forthcoming league clash against Usfas Bamako.
