Bayern Munich advanced to the next round of the German Cup with a commanding 6-1 victory over Magdeburg at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday evening.
The hosts made an immediate impression and took the lead in the 10th minute. Michael Olise finished an attack created by Ismael Saibari, giving Bayern an early advantage.
Magdeburg responded just five minutes later, with Mateusz Jukowski equalising after being set up by Philip Chavez.
Bayern quickly restored their lead. Saibari put the home side back in front in the 21st minute, turning Olise’s assist into his team’s second goal. Bayern carried that advantage into half-time.
The German champions continued to control the match after the interval and extended their lead from the penalty spot in the 51st minute, with Olise scoring his second goal of the evening.
Alphonso Davies added Bayern’s fourth in the 70th minute after receiving a pass from Lennart Karl. The visitors’ task then became even more difficult three minutes later when Nathaniel Brown made it 5-1, with Davies providing the assist.
Bayern completed the scoring in stoppage time. Substitute David Santos found the net in the third additional minute, 90+3, following a decisive pass from Josip Stanisic.
That late strike completed a six-goal performance at the Allianz Arena and secured Bayern Munich’s progress in the German Cup.
