The anticipated transfer of Mamadou Lamine Camara from Moroccan side Renaissance Berkane to Libyan outfit Al-Ahli Tripoli collapsed at the final stage, despite the Senegalese midfielder nearing a move under Egyptian coach Hossam El-Badry.
Al-Ahli Tripoli issued a statement via its official channels, confirming that all legal procedures for Camara’s signing were properly followed.
However, the club cited time constraints as the reason the deal could not be completed.
Camara has been a pivotal figure for Renaissance Berkane this season, appearing in 15 matches across competitions and clocking 1,256 minutes on the pitch.
He also represented Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations.
“Al-Ahly Sports Club confirms that the procedures for contracting with the Senegalese player Mamadou Lamine Camara were carried out in a legally correct manner, after a final agreement with the player and his lawyer in principle to pay the penalty clause for the player, and in this case the payment will not be made except after the issuance of the international card), and the submission of the required documents within the approved registration window, and the player is considered free in this case.”
“While Al Ahly club raced against time to finalize the player’s registration procedures, the limited time and delay in completing the final agreement between the two parties prompted the club to thank the player Kamara and his respected lawyer for their efforts and for choosing Al Ahly’s offer over other offers.”
“Al-Ahli Club confirms its continuation of its project to support the first football team with the best names of professional players during the upcoming transfer period, and that it trusts the choices made by the technical staff during the current transfer period, wishing success to all the players who were signed, and also thanks the players who left the team for all that they offered and gave for the sake of the leader
