Trabzonspor slap €30m price tag on Paul Onuachu amid transfer battle
Trabzonspor have set a firm €30 million asking price for Paul Onuachu as the Nigeria forward continues to attract serious transfer interest following a remarkable season in Turkey.
The Turkish Super Lig side are reluctant to part ways with the striker unless their valuation is met, with the club already rejecting two offers from domestic rivals Fenerbahce.
Trabzonspor’s stance reflects Onuachu’s importance to their plans after the towering forward delivered a sensational campaign, ending the season as the league’s joint top scorer alongside İstanbul Basaksehir striker Eldor Shomurodov.
Fenerbahce offers rejected as Al Ahli remain interested
Fenerbahce have emerged as one of the strongest suitors for the former Southampton man but have so far failed to convince Trabzonspor with their proposals.
Saudi Pro League giants Al Ahli are also long-term admirers of the 32-year-old and reportedly tested Trabzonspor’s resolve with a €20 million bid, which was rejected.
Trabzonspor have also turned down offers reaching €25 million as they continue to hold out for a fee closer to their €30 million valuation.
Besiktas are monitoring the situation as well, although the Istanbul club are yet to make an official approach for the striker.
Onuachu’s future remains uncertain after prolific season
Despite the growing interest, Trabzonspor remain prepared to keep Onuachu, who still has two years left on his current contract.
The club’s position is strengthened by the striker’s impressive contribution last season, with his goals helping him establish himself as one of the most influential attackers in Turkish football.
Onuachu’s form has revived his market value after a difficult spell at Southampton and has placed him among the most sought-after forwards available during the summer transfer window.
With multiple clubs tracking his availability, the coming weeks could determine whether Trabzonspor succeed in keeping their star striker or secure a record fee for his services.
