Spanish giants Real Madrid are reportedly eyeing German defender Nico Schlotterbeck as a potential signing next summer to fill the void that will be left by centre-back Antonio Rudiger when he leaves the club.
According to Jorge Picón of El Desmarque, the La Liga leaders have faced challenges in the centre-back market, with Marc Guéhi joining Manchester City and Dayot Upamecano choosing to remain at Bayern Munich despite being a free agent.
This has prompted Real Madrid to turn their attention to Schlotterbeck, currently at Borussia Dortmund.
The 26-year-old German is highly regarded for his pace, height, and ball-playing ability, qualities that make him an attractive option for Madrid’s defensive line. Sources indicate that the club sees him as a possible replacement for either David Alaba or Antonio Rudiger, both of whom are out of contract at the end of the season.
Schlotterbeck’s combination of youth and experience in top-flight European football positions him as a key candidate to strengthen Real Madrid’s defence ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
