Irish-Congolese forward Onesime Tembe has completed a move to Italian side Nocerina Calcio from free agency, signing on a deal that runs from 09/02/2026 to 30/06/2026. The 21-year-old centre-forward joins the Serie D – Girone G club after a brief spell without a team, and is registered to wear the number 9 shirt for the Molossi.
Tembe arrives in Nocera Inferiore as a free agent, having most recently been unattached following his departure from Danish outfit Akademisk Boldklub. The switch to Nocerina places him in Italy’s Serie D – Group G, confirming a step into Italian football and a move away from the development pathway he had previously followed in Ireland, Denmark and Sweden. No transfer fee is involved in the deal and no current market value is listed for the player in the available data, underlining the low-risk nature of the signing for the club.
Before securing this contract, Tembe’s recent career was marked by a series of short but notable stints across Europe. After progressing through the Shamrock Rovers Academy in Ireland, he moved to Bohemians Academy at the start of 2024, remaining within his home country’s system. In September 2024 he left Ireland for Denmark, joining Akademisk Boldklub, where he continued his development as a centre-forward.
The 1.93 m striker then took his first step into Scandinavian football beyond Denmark when he joined Swedish side FC Rosengård on loan in July 2025. That loan ended with his official return to Akademisk Boldklub on 31 December 2025. Shortly afterwards, on 01/01/2026, he became a free agent, listed as “Without Club,” a status that lasted until Nocerina moved to secure his signature on 09/02/2026.
Capable of operating through the middle in attack and preferring his right foot, Tembe adds physical presence and aerial strength to Nocerina’s front line. His dual nationality, representing both Ireland and DR Congo, gives the club a player with a multicultural background and experience in different football environments, though there is no evidence in the data of any senior international caps or recent match performances, appearances or goals.
The move also represents a new chapter geographically. Having developed in Irish academies and tested himself in Northern European football with clubs in Denmark and Sweden, Tembe now enters the Italian lower leagues with the opportunity to establish himself in a senior environment. If he performs well during this contract period through to 30/06/2026, he could either earn an extended stay in Italy or attract interest from higher divisions, potentially shaping the next decisive phase of his career as a tall, mobile centre-forward with cross-border experience.
