Villarreal are being linked with a move for Hannover 96 midfielder Noel Aseko, with reports in Germany suggesting the La Liga side are tracking the 20-year-old’s progress closely.

Data from transfer specialists indicates Aseko is currently on loan at Hannover 96 from FC Bayern Munich II, with an eventual return to the Bavarian club scheduled as a standard end-of-loan move. Despite that pathway back to Bavaria, Villarreal are rumoured to be exploring the possibility of bringing the defensive midfielder to Spain from FC Bayern II, though no fee, talks or level of interest have been formally confirmed and the probability of a deal is listed only as “?”.

Aseko, who holds both German and Equatorial Guinean nationality, has seen his market value rise sharply in recent months, climbing to a reported €6.00m. That valuation is fuelling speculation that Bayern could be tempted to cash in rather than reintegrate him into their second team set-up, raising scenarios that include a permanent sale, a further loan, or even a route that could leave the player assessing his options if no clear first‑team pathway emerges.

Primarily operating as a defensive midfielder and preferring his right foot, Aseko has developed through several German youth systems. Born in Berlin on 22 November 2005, he came through FC Hertha 03 Zehlendorf’s youth ranks before progressing via Hertha BSC’s youth and U17 sides, then joining FC Bayern’s U19s, Bayern Munich II in the Regionalliga Bayern, and most recently Hannover 96 in Germany.

Having already experienced senior football in the German pyramid and a rapid rise in estimated value, a potential move to Villarreal and La Liga would represent a significant step into one of Europe’s top leagues. If the interest eventually hardens into a concrete offer, the transfer could prove a pivotal moment in shaping Aseko’s career trajectory and determine whether he becomes a long-term Bundesliga prospect or establishes his reputation on the Spanish stage.
