Sidy Sanokho has completed a move from FK BE1 Jonava to FK Sūduva Marijampolė, returning to the Toplyga side on a permanent deal starting on 2026-02-06. The 28-year-old attacking midfielder, who holds both French and Malian nationality, joins Sūduva after previously spending time at the club on loan, with his new contract running until 2025-12-31.
The transfer sees Sūduva secure a player whose market value has risen sharply in recent seasons, currently listed at €300k. Although the exact transfer fee has not been disclosed, the deal represents a clear statement of intent from the Marijampolė club, who bring back a familiar creative presence to strengthen their attacking options in Lithuania’s top flight.
Sanokho’s switch is the latest step in a career that has taken him across several countries and levels of the game. Born on 08/05/1997 and standing at 1.87 m, he is deployed primarily as an attacking midfielder and is right-footed. Before arriving in Lithuania, he developed in Italy with Spezia’s youth team and Novara Primavera, earning an early market valuation of €50k during his time there. He later moved through French football with Racing Club de France and AS Furiani-Agliani, before joining Swindon Town in England, gaining experience in a different footballing culture.
After leaving Swindon Town, Sanokho had spells without a club, then returned to France with AS Nancy-Lorraine B and again found himself unattached before securing a contract with FK BE1 Jonava in Lithuania. That move, completed from free-agent status, eventually led to his first switch to Sūduva on loan in the 24/25 season. Following the end of that loan and a formal return to BE1 Jonava, Sūduva have now acted to bring him back on a full transfer.
In Lithuania, Sanokho has rebuilt his career and significantly increased his market value, with two consecutive upward revisions during his time at Sūduva. His performances there have been strong enough for the club to commit to him again, this time beyond a temporary arrangement, underlining the impact he has made in the Toplyga environment.
While the details of his appearances and statistics for BE1 Jonava and Sūduva are not specified, his repeated recruitment by the same club indicates that his contribution in the attacking midfield role has been appreciated. His ability to operate between the lines and his physical profile offer Sūduva a blend of technique and presence in advanced areas.
For a player with roots in France and Mali, this confirmed move cements his status as an established expatriate professional in Lithuania rather than a domestic league figure in his home countries. It places his immediate future firmly in the Toplyga, where continued strong performances could either extend his stay beyond 2025-12-31 or position him for another step in his career once the contract runs down.
