There is no previous head-to-head record between Teungueth FC and Colombe Sportive du Dja-et-Lobo. Sunday’s fixture will therefore be the first competitive encounter between the two clubs, both domestically and on the continental stage.
Teungueth FC go into the tie with confidence after finishing as leaders of the Senegalese top flight last season and producing strong performances in continental competition. The Rufisque-based side have won four of their past five matches and drawn the other, including two victories over FC Canchungo.
Those results have given Teungueth momentum before the opening leg, while home advantage at Stade Leopold Sedar-Senghor could help them establish an advantage ahead of the return fixture.
Colombe Sportive arrive in Dakar as champions of Cameroon’s Elite One and have already come through a demanding previous round. They drew 0-0 at home against Stade Malien before securing qualification in Bamako through a penalty shoot-out.
After another goalless draw, the Cameroonian side prevailed 4-3 on penalties. They are also unbeaten in their past five matches in all competitions and will be aiming to keep the tie finely balanced before returning home for the second leg.
The contest is expected to be closely fought, with both teams having avoided defeat in their recent matches and built their form on defensive discipline. Teungueth FC are slight favourites because of their home advantage, but Colombe Sportive’s ability to frustrate opponents away from home could make this a tightly contested match.
The Africafoot prediction is a 1-1 draw.
The published betting prices for the match list a Teungueth FC win at 4.55, a draw at 3.25 and a Colombe Sportive win at 2.13.
