Egyptian teenager Hamza Abdelkarim has officially begun his journey with Barcelona Athletic after taking part in his first training session with the club’s reserve side on Wednesday, as preparations continue for upcoming fixtures.
Barcelona confirmed on February 1 the signing of Abdelkarim from Egyptian giants Al Ahly on a loan deal that runs until the end of the season and includes an option to make the move permanent.
Images from Wednesday’s training session were shared on Barcelona Athletic’s official X account, with Abdelkarim featuring alongside his new teammates as he settles into life at the club.
The reserve side are currently gearing up for their next league assignment against Barbastro, scheduled for Sunday at the Johan Cruyff Stadium in the Spanish Fourth Division.
In a post accompanying the training photos, Barcelona Athletic wrote, “We are already preparing for the upcoming challenge against Barbastro at the Johan Cruyff Stadium.”
