Morocco head coach Mohamed Ouahbi will announce his squad on November 5 for the Atlas Lions’ two matches against Niger in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

According to Moroccan sports outlet Al Mountakhab, the national team will begin a training camp on November 9 as preparations intensify for the third and fourth rounds of the qualifying campaign.

Morocco will host Niger at the Mohammed V Sports Complex in Casablanca on November 13 before the two sides meet again on November 17 in the return fixture.

The double-header offers Ouahbi’s side an opportunity to extend their winning start and strengthen their position at the top of Group A as they pursue qualification for the continental tournament.

Morocco target back-to-back wins against Niger

The Atlas Lions head into the November international break after winning their opening two qualifying matches without conceding a goal.

Morocco began their campaign with a 2-0 victory over Gabon before recording another 2-0 win against Lesotho, collecting six points from their first two games.

Those results have placed Ouahbi’s team at the top of Group A and given them an encouraging start to their qualification bid.

Two further victories against Niger would strengthen Morocco’s position in the group and move them closer to securing a place at the 2027 finals.

Ouahbi prepares for crucial November fixtures

The November training camp will give Ouahbi time to prepare his players for the two encounters as Morocco seek to maintain their positive momentum.

Attention will turn to the squad announcement on November 5, when the coach reveals the players selected for the upcoming international break.

The 2027 Africa Cup of Nations will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, marking the first time the three East African nations will stage the continental tournament together.
