Chelsea forward Tyrique George has opened up about his heritage, revealing that his mother is Ghanaian and his father is Nigerian.

The 20-year-old striker joined Everton on loan on transfer deadline day, and in his first interview with the club, he confirmed his dual West African roots.

“My mother is Ghanaian and my father is Nigerian,” George said.

George made 11 appearances for Chelsea in the first half of the season, finding the net against Lincoln City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Ajax.

He has also broken into the England Under-21 setup, scoring twice in four matches for the Young Lions.

Having represented England at U16, U17, U18, and U19 levels, George played a key role in the European Under-21 Championship qualifiers in late 2025.

With no senior caps yet, he remains eligible to switch allegiance to either Ghana or Nigeria at the senior level.
