Besiktas are being linked with a move for Göztepe playmaker Junior Olaitan as the Istanbul club assess midfield options ahead of the next transfer window.
The 23-year-old attacking midfielder, currently valued at €1.20m on Transfermarkt, is reported to be on Besiktas’ radar, with the move listed as a rumour and no probability attached (“?”) at this stage. There is no indication of any agreed fee or contract terms, and with no public expiry date on his current deal at Göztepe, it remains unclear whether he could become a free agent or command a transfer fee.
Olaitan only joined Göztepe from Grenoble Foot 38, continuing a rapid rise that has seen his market value climb from €100,000 in early 2022 to its current €1.20m. He wears the No 10 shirt for the İzmir side and operates primarily as an attacking midfielder, offering creativity between the lines and a right-footed threat in the final third.
Born in Porto-Novo on 9 May 2002, Olaitan holds Benin and Nigeria nationality, having first made the step into European football with Ayema FC’s move to Chamois Niortais in France in January 2022. Spells at ESTAC Troyes and Grenoble in the French system followed, with moves including a loan and a subsequent permanent switch before his transfer to Türkiye and Göztepe.
