Dayot Upamecano has decided to commit his future to Bayern Munich by agreeing a new long-term contract with the German champions.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that the French centre-back has approved fresh terms after weeks of talks between the player’s camp and the club hierarchy.

“Upamecano approves new deal at Bayern, clubs interested, like PSG and Real Madrid, are informed,” Romano revealed, confirming that two of Europe’s biggest sides have been told the defender is no longer a realistic target.

He added that Upamecano is “set to sign a new contract soon at FC Bayern, happy to stay as huge boost for the club after big efforts from club and player side to make it happen.” The defender’s new deal will run until 2030, securing his prime years in Munich and giving Bayern stability at the heart of their defence.

With Upamecano off the market, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain will now shift focus to alternative options in central defence ahead of future transfer windows.

For Bayern, keeping a key starter rather than entering a bidding war to replace him is a significant victory in a competitive market.
