Hibernian are being linked with a move for Copenhagen centre-back Munashe Garananga, with the Zimbabwe international emerging as a potential defensive recruit for the Scottish Premiership side.
The 25-year-old, currently valued at €2.00m, is rumoured to be on Hibs’ radar as they assess options to strengthen at the back. Reports in Denmark list the probability of any deal only as “?”, underlining that discussions remain at a speculative stage rather than an advanced negotiation.
Garananga is under contract at FC Copenhagen, but with no public details on the length of his deal or expiry date, observers have noted there is at least a theoretical possibility he could move on in future as a free agent if terms are not extended. For now, however, any switch to Easter Road is being framed as a potential transfer rather than an imminent agreement.
Born in Harare on 18 January 2001, the 1.88m defender is a right-footed centre-back who has climbed steadily through European football. After leaving South African side Ubuntu Cape Town FC Youth, he moved to Dynamo Brest in Belarus in February 2022, then on to Sheriff Tiraspol in Moldova in January 2023. A subsequent move to KV Mechelen in Belgium followed in February 2024, before Copenhagen brought him in ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.
His market value has risen sharply over the past few years, peaking at €2.50m during his time with Copenhagen before a recent adjustment down to €2.00m, according to data last updated in December 2025. That price range is likely to influence any negotiations, with Hibernian weighing the cost against his potential resale value and experience across multiple European leagues.
If a move to Edinburgh does materialise, the transfer could offer Garananga a prominent platform in the Scottish Premiership and a fresh opportunity to enhance his reputation in another competitive environment.
