Serge Arnaud Aka has completed a move to Kahraba Ismailia, signing as a free agent after a spell without a club, in a deal that will run from 2026-02-02 to 2027-06-30. The Ivorian defensive midfielder joins the Egyptian Premier League side with an estimated market value of €75k and returns to a competition and country he knows well.
The 31-year-old arrives at Kahraba from the status of “Without Club,” meaning the transfer was concluded without a fee. His registration has been lodged for the Egyptian Premier League, confirming that he will continue his career abroad rather than in his native Côte d’Ivoire. The agreement places him back on a professional stage where he previously featured for several Egyptian sides.
Aka’s move to Kahraba marks the latest step in a career that has taken him across North and East Africa and into Turkey. After emerging at ASEC Mimosas in Côte d’Ivoire, he left his home country for CS Sfaxien in Tunisia, then moved to El Gouna FC in Egypt. From there he earned a transfer to Altay SK in Türkiye before returning to Egypt with Ismaily SC and later Bank El Ahly. His last club before becoming unattached was Bank El Ahly, from which he departed to become a free agent prior to signing with Kahraba.
Standing 1.83 m tall and operating primarily as a defensive midfielder, Aka is registered as a right-footed player whose main role is to shield the back line and link play from deep. Over the years his market value has fluctuated significantly, peaking at around €525k during his time with Altay SK in Türkiye, before gradually declining to €75k by late 2025 while unattached. The latest valuation accompanies his free transfer to Kahraba and reflects his current standing in the market.
His return to Egyptian football also reconnects him with a league in which he has considerable experience. Spells at El Gouna, Ismaily and Bank El Ahly have given him familiarity with the style and tempo of the Egyptian Premier League, as well as the demands of local supporters. Kahraba will expect him to draw on that knowledge as a stabilising presence in midfield.
For supporters in Côte d’Ivoire, the confirmed move underlines a continued pattern in Aka’s career: building his reputation almost entirely outside his home league. The Ivorian has spent his prime years in Tunisia, Egypt and Türkiye rather than in domestic competition, and this latest contract extends that path. For Egyptian observers, his signing by Kahraba is a low-cost, low-risk addition of an experienced professional with a long résumé in regional football.
With his contract now in place from 2026-02-02 to 2027-06-30, Aka’s immediate task will be to secure a starting role and re-establish his influence at the heart of midfield. How he performs in this stint with Kahraba is likely to shape the closing chapters of his professional career and determine whether he can once again raise his market value and standing within the Egyptian Premier League.
