Skelly Alvero is being linked with a return to French football, with Werder Bremen’s defensive midfielder rumoured to be on Amiens SC’s radar.
Reports in Germany and France suggest the Ligue 2 side are exploring a move for the 23-year-old, who is currently valued at €2.50m on Transfermarkt. The probability of any deal remains unclear – listed only as “?” in the latest data – but the interest raises questions over Alvero’s long-term future in Bremen and whether he could yet become a free agent if no agreement is struck.
Amiens, pushing to strengthen their spine in France’s second tier, are thought to see the 2.02m midfielder as a physically imposing option at the base of their midfield. Alvero, who can operate as a defensive midfielder, joined Werder from Lyon after an initial loan spell was made permanent, and has since been part of the Bundesliga side’s squad rotation.
There is no indication of an existing contract end-date in the data, which will fuel speculation that Amiens could attempt a low-fee move or position themselves should Alvero’s situation in Germany loosen to the point where he is available without a transfer fee.
Born in Stains on 4 May 2002, Alvero holds French and Angolan nationality and came through the ranks at FC Sochaux-Montbéliard, progressing from their U19s to the B team and then the first team in Ligue 2. His performances there earned a switch to Olympique Lyon, where his market value climbed as high as €4m before later settling at its current €2.50m following his time at Werder Bremen.
Having already experienced Ligue 2, Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga by 23, a move to Amiens would offer Alvero a platform to relaunch his trajectory in a familiar environment and could prove a pivotal step in rebuilding both his reputation and market value if the transfer rumour ultimately turns into a deal.
