Fresh statistics have highlighted a difficult period for Mohamed Salah as the Egyptian forward endures an uncharacteristically subdued campaign with Liverpool in the 2025/2026 season.
According to data published by “WhoScored”, Salah has recorded the steepest decline in average rating among all Premier League players who have featured in at least ten matches this season.
The figures point to a noticeable drop in influence compared to his usual standards.
The rating of “The Egyptian King” has fallen by 0.87 points from last season. After averaging an impressive 7.61 during the 2024–2025 campaign, his current rating now sits at 6.74, underlining the extent of his struggles.
This downturn has also been reflected in the race for the Premier League Golden Boot. Salah has slipped out of contention early, with Erling Haaland opening a commanding lead, putting the Liverpool forward’s chances of retaining the award he won last season in serious doubt.
So far in the league, Salah has managed just four goals in fifteen appearances, most of them starts, alongside four assists. By his own lofty standards, these numbers represent a modest return when measured against his historical output in English football.
The inconsistency has coincided with speculation surrounding his future at Anfield, sparked by reports of a brief disagreement with manager Arne Slott. Although the situation was later resolved, questions continue to swirl about his long-term role within the squad.
Salah remains under contract with Liverpool until June 30, 2027, but the current statistics and assessments have fueled debate over whether the “Pharaoh” is simply navigating a transitional phase or if deeper issues are contributing to his dip in form this season.
