Al-Ahly board member Sayed Abdel-Hafiz successfully reached out to Imam Ashour, who went missing on Thursday and did not travel with the team to Zanzibar for their CAF Champions League clash against Tanzania’s Young Africans.

The club have announced disciplinary measures against Ashour for failing to join the squad’s delegation.

On Thursday evening, Al-Ahly confirmed that the midfielder would be fined 1.5 million Egyptian pounds and suspended for two weeks.

During this period, he will be excluded from group training and will instead follow an individual training program.

Reports now suggest that Ashour has since responded to Abdel-Hafiz and agreed to comply with all of Al-Ahly’s conditions following the sanctions.

The source added that the board member made it clear there would be no reduction of the penalties under any circumstances, and they will be fully enforced.

Ashour’s individual training schedule has been set at the club’s headquarters: he will train at 5 p.m. when the team holds morning sessions and at 9 a.m. when group training occurs in the evening.

Al-Ahly is set to face Young Africans at 3 p.m. on Saturday at Zanzibar’s Aman Stadium in the fourth round of the CAF Champions League group stage.

The Egyptian giants lead Group B with seven points, while Young Africans sit second with four points.
