Liverpool manager Arne Slot has confirmed that Mohamed Salah is fit and ready to feature in Saturday’s Premier League clash against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
The Egyptian forward returned to action in Liverpool’s Champions League win over Marseille, completing the full 90 minutes after his stint at the Africa Cup of Nations.
“Salah played a full 90 minutes in the last Marseille game, as did many other players,” Slot told the media ahead of the game.
The Reds boss also downplayed the significance of Salah’s impressive record against Bournemouth, in which he has scored 12 goals in 13 appearances.
“Salah scoring 12 goals in 13 games against Bournemouth? That doesn’t change the fact that he has scored many goals against any team.”
Slot revealed that Liverpool held a recovery session on Friday before training again on Saturday, and insisted he will make a final decision on his starting XI after the team’s final preparations.
“Yesterday we had a recovery session, and today we trained. I know Mo well, he is ready to play tomorrow, but like other players, he has another training session, and after that I will decide on the lineup,” he added.
