South African midfielder Thembinkosi Lorch has reached a personal agreement with Libyan side Al Ittihad Tripoli as he nears a move away from Wydad Athletic Club.
The 32-year-old has been one of Wydad’s standout performers this season, but a lucrative offer from Libya — reportedly worth around $75,000 per month on a two-and-a-half-year contract — has convinced him to pursue the transfer.
A verbal agreement is already in place, though rivals Al Ahli Tripoli have also submitted a formal bid and are in contention for the winger’s signature.
While paperwork is yet to be finalised, the transfer is expected to be completed soon unless a late, more attractive offer emerges for the former Orlando Pirates star.
Sources also confirmed that Stephane Aziz Ki has joined Al Ittihad Tripoli, with both players identified as key targets for the Libyan giants.
