Ashraf Sobhi, Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports, held a phone conversation with his Moroccan counterpart, Mohamed Saad Barada, Minister of National Education and Sports in the Kingdom of Morocco.
According to the official page of Egypt’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, Sobhi emphasized the deep historical and fraternal ties between Egypt and Morocco, noting that the two countries have maintained decades of cooperation and integration across multiple fields, particularly in sports and youth affairs.
Both ministers agreed that sports competitions should remain within a civilized framework grounded in mutual respect and fair play.
The discussion came as part of ongoing coordination between the two nations aimed at calming the sporting atmosphere among fans and reinforcing the idea that sports should unite people rather than fuel conflict.
Sobhi also praised Morocco’s successful hosting of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, while stressing that any forms of fanaticism or abuse must be rejected, especially if they threaten the strong relations between the two nations or tarnish the image of Arab fans.
In response, Minister Barada welcomed the call and reiterated Morocco’s appreciation for its strategic relationship with Egypt.
He affirmed his country’s commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen Arab unity and promote positive values among youth.
