President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ibrahim Gusau, has declared Super Eagles readiness for the blockbuster semi-final clash against Morocco at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
In a high-stake clash on Wednesday, the Super Eagles will battle it out with the Atlas Lions at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdallah, with victory crucial to securing qualification to the finals of the tournament.
The West African football heavyweights triumphed over Algeria 2-0, setting up a cagy encounter against the host nation, who also defeated Cameroon in the last 8 of the tournament.
The Super Eagles remain the only team with a perfect record at AFCON 2025, winning all five matches, while Morocco has four wins and a draw.
And according to Gusau, the Super Eagles will triumph over Morocco just as the Super Falcons did during the Women’s AFCON tournament last year.
“As we saw in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations against the same Morocco, Nigeria still emerged victorious. We believe the same will happen here. Once the whistle is blown, it is eleven players against eleven players. All other factors end there. Our boys are ready for that challenge.” He told BSN Sports.
Nigeria last won the AFCON title in 2013 and pushing to secure the covetous trophy this term, having missed out to Ivory Coast in the previous edition.
