Fenerbahçe have officially confirmed the signing of Mattéo Guendouzi from Lazio, completing one of the standout transfers of the season in Turkish football.
The Istanbul giants secured the French midfielder with Moroccan roots for a reported fee of 28 million euros, reinforcing their squad midway through the campaign as they push to strengthen key areas.
“Fenerbahçe has added 26-year-old central midfielder Mattéo Guendouzi to its squad. The French international signed a 4.5-year contract with the yellow and blue team.
“The signing ceremony, held at the club’s headquarters, was attended by our Board Member responsible for Football, Ertan Torunoğulları, our Football Inc. Board Members Ömer Topbaş and Turgay Terzi, and our Sporting Director Devin Özek,” the Turkish club announced.
Guendouzi had been a regular presence in Lazio’s midfield during the first half of the season, featuring in 17 matches across all competitions. During that period, the 26-year-old registered two goals and one assist, underlining his importance to the Italian side.
His arrival at Fenerbahçe sends a strong message of intent, highlighting the club’s determination to bolster its title ambitions with proven experience from top European football.
