Crystal Palace have not made a formal bid to sign France-born defender of Cameroonian descent Sacha Boey from Bayern Munich, despite ongoing interest in the full-back.
Bayern Munich’s sporting director, Max Eberl, recently acknowledged that the club is open to the possibility of Boey leaving during the winter transfer window, although it remains unclear whether a move will ultimately materialise.
At present, Crystal Palace are not making any concrete efforts to secure the defender’s signature. Speaking on the situation, Bild football editor Christian Falk suggested that Bayern are actively looking to move the player on.
“Bayern are still trying to sell Sacha Boey,” he said.
Eberl is said to have applied subtle pressure on the 25-year-old following Bayern’s match against Salzburg, publicly stating that the club already has enough right-backs and that Boey therefore has the option to seek a move elsewhere.
Complicating matters further, Boey has been ill and was unavailable for the Salzburg fixture, a factor that has made any potential transfer more difficult at this stage.
For now, Boey’s future remains unresolved, with Bayern still open to a sale but no immediate breakthrough in sight.
