Burkina Faso defender Arsene Kouassi says his outfit will fight fiercely to achieve our goal as the team gears up for the round of 16 clash against Ivory Coast at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
The Stallions qualified for the round of 16 of the continental showpiece after defeating Sudan and finishing second behind Algeria in Group E.
Burkina Faso will lock horns with Ivory Coast in all West African affair on Tuesday in the last 16 of the tournament, being held in Morocco.
And Arsene Kouassi, who emerged as the man of the match in their 2-0 win over Sudan has vowed a strong performance heading into the round 16.
“I have big goals that I am striving to achieve, and I will put in more effort. I will not stop here; I will continue to work to achieve our national team’s goals. We will fight fiercely in the round of 16, because we have a goal that we are striving to achieve” he told CAF.
Meanwhile, the enterprising left-back has expressed his joy after bagging the man of the match award in their final game victory against Sudan.
“I am happy to win the Man of the Match award. We played a match against Sudan, but we achieved our goal. We will try to maintain this momentum in the upcoming matches.”
“I always do my best, and I am happy to participate in this tournament and to score a goal against Sudan.” He concluded.
