Burkina Faso coach Brama Traore cut a calm but determined figure after watching his side beat Sudan 2-0 to seal second place in Group E at the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025.
“We are trying to stand out in the knockout stages. We must continue our work, move forward, and inscribe a golden star on the Burkina Faso national team’s jersey,” Traoré said, stressing how much this campaign means to his squad and their country. He praised the players’ mentality, saying they are “determined to make the difference and to achieve good results in this edition of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations.”
Traoré explained that the technical staff had one eye on the Round of 16 even before facing Sudan.
“Before the match, we were already more focused on preparing for the Round of 16. We had to rotate the squad for the match against Sudan, and we decided to rest some players ahead of the next round,” he noted, underlining that, for him, “what matters to us are the results and the fact that we are representing our country.”
