Al Ahly’s medical staff have delivered reassuring news on young forward Hamza Abdelkarim, confirming that the knock he suffered against Al Mokawloon Al Arab is minor and “not a cause for concern.”
The striker felt pain in his foot and ankle after a strong challenge during the Egypt Capital Cup game at Al Salam Stadium, prompting an early substitution as a precaution.
Team doctor Ahmed Gaballah explained that the technical staff chose to take Hamza off before half-time to avoid increasing the pain and prevent the injury from developing into something more serious. Inside the club, the mood quickly shifted from anxiety to calm once initial assessments were completed.
A Zamalek source also told Kooora that the issue should not stand in the way of Abdelkarim’s anticipated move to Barcelona if the two clubs reach a final agreement. The Catalan side are currently sticking to their proposal to take the player on a six-month loan for free, with his situation to be reviewed at the end of that spell.
