Wydad Athletic Club (WAC) has secured the signing of 27-year-old French-Moroccan attacking midfielder Nabil Khali, marking a high-profile addition to the Casablanca side.
The player, a free agent following the expiration of his contract with FC Milsami Orhei in Moldova on December 31, is expected to arrive in the city shortly to complete medical tests and formalize the move.
Khali’s career began in France, rising through the youth ranks of OGC Nice before gaining experience at clubs such as Saint-Nazaire and Avoine OCC.
He then ventured abroad, enjoying a notable stint in Slovenia with Tabor Sežana before moving to Moldova, where he showcased his ability to perform in both domestic and European competitions.
In his final season with FC Milsami, Khali featured in approximately 14 matches across league and continental fixtures, scoring once and contributing three assists.
His versatility allows him to operate as a playmaker or in a more advanced attacking role. Known for his technique, vision, and agility in tight spaces, Khali brings a blend of creativity and composure to Wydad’s midfield. Transfermarkt currently estimates his market value at €350,000.
Wydad’s recruitment of Khali reflects a strategic push to reinforce the squad with experienced players capable of delivering immediate impact.
The club aims to strengthen its domestic campaign and maintain competitiveness in continental tournaments, with Khali expected to play a key role in achieving these objectives.
The French-Moroccan midfielder’s return to North Africa represents both a personal milestone and a significant boost for WAC, adding European seasoning and tactical flexibility to the team.
