Chelsea are prepared to listen to offers for young winger Tyrique George in the January transfer window, with the club ready to cash in despite his promising return this season.
The 19-year-old, who has Ghanaian heritage, is highly rated within English football but has found himself on the fringes at Stamford Bridge due to Chelsea’s wealth of attacking options.
According to the Daily Mail, the club now consider George surplus to requirements and are open to selling him midway through the campaign.
George is under contract until 2027 and has made 11 appearances this season, scoring four goals and providing one assist, a return that has underlined his potential but has not been enough to guarantee a regular role in a crowded squad.
Chelsea’s plans for January include trimming the squad, with George expected to be one of several departures. Senior figures Raheem Sterling and defender Axel Disasi are also among those the club are looking to move on in the coming weeks as they reshape the squad.
A January switch could offer George the chance for regular football and a clearer pathway to development, having shown flashes of quality whenever called upon.
With interest likely to grow as the window approaches, Chelsea now face a decision on whether to prioritise immediate financial return or the long-term promise of a winger still at the early stages of his career.
