Egypt booked their place in the Round 16 stage of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Friday, December 26, after overcoming South Africa with a 1-0 victory.
A solitary strike from Mohamed Salah from the penalty spot was enough to seal the victory for the Pharaohs, taking them to six points in Group B.
The two wins from two games so far are enough to guarantee the record champions a place in the Round of 16 ahead of their final group game next week.
