Benfica are being strongly linked with a move for Estrela Amadora right-back Sidny Cabral, with the likelihood of a deal being reported at 98% according to data from Transfermarkt.
The 23-year-old defender, valued at €2.00m, is rumoured to be high on Benfica’s list as they assess options at full-back ahead of future windows. Cabral is currently on the books at Estrela Amadora in Liga Portugal, but the absence of publicly listed contract dates has fuelled speculation he could become available or negotiate a move, potentially even as a free agent depending on his situation.
Both clubs compete in the same division, making an intra-league switch comparatively straightforward if Benfica decide to formalise their interest. For now, however, the move remains at the rumour stage, with no official confirmation from either side and no indication that terms have been agreed.
Born in Rotterdam on 18 September 2002, Cabral represents both Cape Verde and the Netherlands in terms of nationality and is listed as a defender who operates primarily at right-back. Notably, he is described as being comfortable with both feet, a trait that would appeal to a side seeking tactical flexibility down the flanks.
Cabral’s rise has been steady rather than spectacular, progressing through SC Feyenoord’s youth ranks before moving to FC Twente’s under-17 and under-19 sides. A brief spell without a club in 2020 was followed by a move to Sweden with Helsingborgs IF’s youth teams, then to Germany with Rot-Weiß Erfurt and Viktoria Köln. His market value has climbed from €10,000 in 2021 to €2.00m by December 2025, reflecting consistent development and his impact since arriving at Estrela Amadora.
If Benfica do act on this interest, a move to one of Portugal’s biggest clubs could mark a defining step in Cabral’s career and significantly raise his profile at both domestic and European level.
