Paris Saint-Germain have been handed encouragement in their pursuit of Crystal Palace defender Jaydee Canvot, with the 20-year-old reportedly open to joining the French champions if they make a concrete offer.
Canvot, who is of Senegalese origin, is said to have emerged as a priority target for PSG. The defender is understood to be flattered by the club’s interest and attracted by the prospect of playing for a leading side.
Sources cited by Football Insider say Canvot would welcome the possibility of a move to Paris, although no transfer has been agreed and the interest has not yet been followed by an official proposal.
Crystal Palace, meanwhile, are keen to retain the defender and are under no particular pressure to sell. Canvot’s contract with the English club runs until 2029, leaving Palace in a strong negotiating position should PSG decide to pursue the player formally.
His market value is estimated at 35 million euros by Transfermarkt, a figure that indicates the potential financial scale of any agreement. PSG must now decide whether to make an approach, while Crystal Palace would have to determine whether to consider a departure for their young defender.
PSG will shortly face Strasbourg in their seventh league match of the French championship.
