France and Côte d’Ivoire forward Elye Wahi is being linked with a return to Ligue 1, with Eintracht Frankfurt striker reportedly on Nice’s radar according to transfer data indicating a 19% probability of a move.

The 22-year-old centre-forward, currently valued at €12.00m, is rumoured to be a target for the Ligue 1 side as they assess attacking options ahead of upcoming windows. Data from Transfermarkt lists the interest as a low-probability scenario, but the lack of a specified contract expiry at Frankfurt leaves open the possibility of future negotiations, including an eventual free-agent departure if no extension is agreed.

Wahi only joined Eintracht Frankfurt from Olympique Marseille, having previously moved to the Stade Vélodrome from RC Lens. His market value has dropped steadily over the past two seasons, from €40m at Lens in late 2023 to €18m and then €12m with Frankfurt by December 2025, a trend that could encourage a club like Nice to explore a deal below his earlier peak price.

Born in Courcouronnes on 2 January 2003 and standing at 1.84m, Wahi rose through Montpellier’s youth ranks, progressing from their U19s to the B team before breaking into the first team in Ligue 1. Earlier spells at FC Montfermeil and SM Caen’s youth setup preceded his professional breakthrough, and he has since featured in both Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga.

Capable of leading the line as a central striker and preferring his right foot, Wahi’s profile fits Nice’s recent strategy of targeting young forwards with resale potential, while also offering Frankfurt an opportunity to reset their squad if they choose to cash in.

Should a move materialise, a switch back to France and into Ligue 1 with Nice could prove pivotal in reviving Wahi’s value and reshaping the trajectory of a career that has already taken in several major European leagues at a young age.
